Married!

Yes, Robin and I have tied the knot, at long last.

We've been working towards this for over a year now, and finally, fruition.

The ceremony was was on Saturday, August 4th, in my yard in front of our apartment in missoula.  It was short, fun, perfect and effing beautiful.

So, how is everyone?

Landed Me A Comic Gig...

...and it's a pretty serious one, too.

I'll just cut'n'paste what I wrote in the MoFu forums:

"A break, at last...

Frank Iero, guitarist in the band My Chemical Romance has started a publishing company of sorts, called Skeleton Crew. One of the projects being released through Skeleton Crew is a comic called Life Is Hell, on which yours truly will be doing the art chores. ;)

Life Is Hell is being written by Joey Southside (who happens to front a fine band himself, The Banner), who has created a rich universe, full of detail and history. The story deals with a group of young people with supernatural powers, their own dramas unfolding on a backdrop of apocalypse.

A bit of info I found Out There:

"Joey Southside, vocalist of New Jersey hardcore act The Banner has
announced his upcoming comic book series. Under the working title Life Is
Hell, Southside is contributing the first series to My Chemical Romance
guitarist, Frank Iero's, Skeleton Crew Publishing.

The series will follow a band of anti-heroes including a werewolf and
vampire who will be tackling threats even more horrorific than themselves.
Combining splatter-punk elements, the book will focus a great deal on the
hardcore punk lifestyle as a backdrop for the series.

Iero's company, Skeleton Crew was launched in July of this year. It is
described as a record label, book publisher, and clothing design company.
As a label, it will focus on limited edition, colored vinyl and picture
discs. As a publisher, he hopes to publish books written or illustrated by
people who "have something to say.""

You can also go to Life Is Hell's Myspace page for a fuller explanation of the comic itself, as well as quite a bit of art from issue 0 (I myself will pick up at issue 1). Give it a whirl.

So yah. Here's a banner with a few of the characters (all from prelim sketches, so these may not be the final versions):

Considering the amount of time I've dedicated to getting my foot in the comic industry's door, I'm pretty damn excited about being involved with this project (plus Joey's a cool guy, I look forward to working with him). It would also seem my connection to the music world, art-wise, at any rate, will continue for the time being...

As always, thanks for looking."

So yeah, at long last...  It's been about 16 years since I started down the comics illustration road...  So either I'm not as good as I think, or I'm just really lazy.  Heh.  At any rate, I'm pretty excited...
