John Stewart Politely Rips Bill Bennett a New OneBoingBoing is linking to a clip of John Stewart ripping apart Bill Bennett on the topic of gay marriage. What really impresses me about John Stewart is that he can tear down these right-wing arguments and show them for what they are, yet do so politely and respectfully. And he still manages to be completely hilarious. Turn it around, and you see people like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly calling people names, cutting off their opponent's microphones, and generally acting like spoiled children. |

This was one of the harshest interviews I've seen John Stewart do. I agree that he did provided a much more eloquent argument than anyone else has. It just wasn't one of his more graceful moments. I kind of felt bad for Bill Bennett having to be the one sitting there. Still though, excelent job on John Stewart's part.

Kudos to Mr. Stewart for offering a more enlightening and realistic point of view on this issue. I for one embrace the gay and lesbian community. Are they some kind of threat to the rest of us so-called "normal" people? Absolutely not. It's unfortunate that these ultra-conservatives have nothing more productive to do with their time than bitch about other people's sexual orientation.
